2008 flora springs chardonnay

Getting home after working 12 hours and being around 97 degrees outside, I needed something to quench the thirst. Bypassed the margueritta, and headed for this previously cooled wine. Lightly oaked and refreshing!! I would surely rebuy this wine. perfect fit for the night!

summer in a glass book review(add on) Evan Dawson author

When I first posted, I really only talked about the wines a bit, but I wanted to speak to the book a bit more. This is excellent writing about some great people and thier stories. From grape growers, to wine makers, and in between. I got this from the library, but am seriously considering buying it. This author did his homework, and it shows in the pages.

2008 hermann j wiemer semi dry resiling

After stacking some firewood on a nice spring day, I needed something with a bit of acid / bite on the end to cut through the muck in my mouth. This riesling did it in spades.Nice back-end to refreshen the pallette.A rebuy for sure!

Cameron Hughes wines

Tried 3 different blends the other night at a gathering and had the following blends. 190 cab sauv, 227 pinot noir, and 208 cab sauv / syrah blend. 3 winners here folks, with in my opinion, the pinot the best of the bunch. We drank many wines that night, but all three of these are winners...a free ship would entice me to get another case.

cameron hughes lot 208

This is a red blend, 50% each cab sauv and syrah, sourced from napa valley. This was a very good wine. nice flavors and aromas. If they offered free shipping, I might buy a whole case.

Evan Dawson's "Summer in a glass"

OK, so now 259 pages later...WOW, what a great book. I am absolutely inspired to go out and try some NYS wines that were talked about in Evan Dawson's book "Summer in a glass". I had written off NYS reds as being fairly lackluster with no finish, but I am going to try some of the ones mentioned in the book, and see if it has changed. I have previously stated that I think Zugibe makes some of the best reds I have tasted from NYS in quite a while. Looking forward to tasting some new ones....

2009 sauvion muscadet sevre et maine

Lemon lime on the nose with minerality on the midpallete. Maybe a bit of grapefruit on the finish, but not as acidic as what i had read on it,  in my opinion. Had this with some slightly stale french bread and some wonderful brie and some EVOO and some pesto mixed in.Sometimes together, and sometimes not, a nice mix altogether. I've got one more of this and am looking forward to some other peoples opinions on this $8 wine.

This was a bit harsh upon opening.Venturing this helped quite a bit. Even at $10 bucks, might pass on this one.
